Charity Navigator awards National Brain Tumor Society its coveted 4-star rating

National Brain Tumor Society, the largest nonprofit dedicated to the brain tumor community in the United States, has been awarded the top rating of four stars from the leading independent charity review source, Charity Navigator.

This rating publicly designates the National Brain Tumor Society as an “exceptional” nonprofit and indicates that the Organization is in an exclusive category, as only 25% of the organizations that Charity Navigator reviews receive the full four-star rating.

“National Brain Tumor Society is acutely focused on being good stewards of the generous contributions we receive from our community throughout the year,” said Sally M. Davis, CEO, National Brain Tumor Society. “As such, we are pleased that our commitment to putting our resources to the best use in pursuit of a cure for brain tumors has been recognized by Charity Navigator.”

National Brain Tumor Society funnels philanthropic support into programs that aim to help it achieve its mission of finding better treatments, and ultimately, a cure for brain tumors. For every dollar raised, 80 cents are spent on mission-delivery activities, chiefly our high-impact and integrated research and public policy initiatives.

“Receiving four out of a possible four stars, indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices…and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way,” said a letter of recognition from Charity Navigator’s President & CEO, Ken Berger.

Charity Navigator is the largest and most-trusted reviewer of nonprofits in the country. They attract more visitors to their review site than all other charity rating groups combined, and estimate that their reviews influence approximately $10 billion in charitable gifts per year.
