NBTS Receives Major Grant for Research Initiatives From Stringer Foundation

2016-07-20

In early July, NBTS was awarded $100,000┬áin support of its signature research initiatives in GBM and pediatric brain tumors. Funds will be evenly distributed between both initiatives and will have an immediate impact – with $2 million in GBM research grants slated for distribution in 2016 alone, and a major investment in pediatrics in the hopper, this funding will facilitate the work of scientists around the country and catalyze significant research projects.

This grant was provided by the Stringer Foundation, which was established in 1995 by the late Tippy Stringer, one of the pioneers of television weather forecasting and a founder of the well-known Big Sky Resort in Montana. Tippy passed away in 2010 after a battle with a brain tumor. The Stringer Foundation maintains her legacy through its commitment and support for medical research, the performing arts, environmental conservation, and animal welfare, among other areas of interest.
