Guest Blog: Hope Springs Eternal with the Tulips Against Tumors Campaign

Read last year’s blog, from Tulips Against Tumor’s 10 Year Anniversary, by creators Chris Grundner and his mother Susan Morisson.

As EcoTulips heads into another year of partnership with the National Brain Tumor Society and the Tulips Against Tumors campaign, I find myself reflecting on how much this fundraiser has impacted Jeroen and me in ways that I didn’t foresee. As the owners of EcoTulips, we truly believe that tulips are a symbol of hope for a brighter future – making them the perfect way to celebrate, honor, and pay tribute to those we love.

Jeroen and his family lost their uncle 10 years ago to a brain tumor. So when the National Brain Tumor Society approached us to provide bulbs for the Tulips Against Tumors campaign we were thrilled and honored. Over the years we have worked closely with the team at NBTS and experienced their dedication to eradicating this terrible cancer. We have received personal notes of triumph and loss in addition to pictures of tulip gardens planted in memory of a loved one. It has become a beautiful, flowery tradition for us and so many others, which has left a lasting impression.

By ordering our bulbs during this fundraiser, you are helping fund research that is being done to stop this disease in honor of all of the others whose lives were taken too early. We are committed to the idea that tulips, in a way, can help to cure brain tumors.

Thank you NBTS and all the families who have allowed us to bring a little joy and beauty into their lives. ~Keriann & Jeroen Koeman
